Our Story

The story of our family ranch began in 1971 when George and Kathie Murphy and their 2 young daughters moved to North Pole, Alaska. They purchased an abandoned dairy farm located on 200 acres and started North Pole Ranch.  They had a large heated horse facility and dog/cat boarding kennel where they also raised and showed several breeds of dogs and horses. 

Their daughters, Kari and Buffy, were raised with a love of animals and the great outdoors. The girls spent weekends, summers and holidays working in the kennels and the stables.  In 1990, they moved to Ashland, Oregon, and Kathie and Kari worked together to open the Kennels for dog and cat boarding that next year. Now in 2021, Kari and her husband Matt (Dusenbury) have purchased the family ranch and are continuing its legacy under a new name: Valley View Ranch and Kennels, LLC.

Here at Valley View Ranch and Kennels, LLC, your pets will enjoy the wonderful smells and sounds of our 100 acre, peaceful country setting. We look forward to meeting you and your pet the next time they need a home away from home. Bring them to the Ranch to come, stay and play!
